Terms & Conditions of Tuition

Effective Date: 29th July 2026

Lesson Bookings

All lessons are subject to availability and must be confirmed directly by Steve Miller Driving School. Submitting an enquiry through this website, GoRoadie, WhatsApp, email or telephone does not guarantee a booking. Lessons are only confirmed once availability has been agreed by Steve Miller.

Lesson Prices & Payment

Current lesson prices are displayed on this website and may be amended from time to time. Payment is required before or at the start of each lesson unless an alternative arrangement has been agreed in advance. Block bookings and intensive courses may require full or partial payment in advance to secure lesson dates.

Block Bookings

Block bookings are available at discounted rates and are intended for use by the named pupil only. Unused lessons are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash. Where refunds are agreed for unused block bookings, lessons already taken may be recalculated at the standard lesson rate before any refund is issued.

Cancellations & Rearranging Lessons

A minimum of 48 hours' notice is required to cancel or rearrange a lesson. Lessons cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice may be charged in full. If Steve Miller Driving School needs to cancel a lesson due to illness, adverse weather, vehicle issues or unforeseen circumstances, every effort will be made to rearrange the lesson at the earliest convenient opportunity.

Late Arrival

If a pupil arrives late for a lesson, the lesson will normally finish at the originally agreed time so that later bookings are not affected. If Steve Miller is delayed, the lesson time will be extended where possible or the missed time will be rearranged.

Fitness to Drive

Pupils must:
-Hold a valid UK provisional or full driving licence.
-Be legally entitled to drive in the United Kingdom.
-Be medically fit to drive.
-Wear suitable footwear and clothing suitable for driving.
-Lessons will not take place if a pupil is under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs or medication that may impair safe driving. Steve Miller Driving School reserves the right to refuse or terminate any lesson where it would be unsafe or unlawful to continue.

Driving Tests

The use of the tuition vehicle for a practical driving test is entirely at the discretion of Steve Miller Driving School.

The instructor may refuse the use of the vehicle if, in their professional opinion, the pupil has not reached the required driving standard or if the vehicle would otherwise be used unsafely.

DVSA practical test fees are separate from lesson fees. Completion of lessons or an intensive course does not guarantee a practical driving test pass.

Intensive Driving Courses

Intensive course availability may vary throughout the year. The number of hours required depends upon each pupil's previous experience, confidence, ability and progress.
Driving test availability is controlled by the DVSA and cannot be guaranteed by Steve Miller Driving School.
Completion of an intensive course does not guarantee that a practical driving test will be available immediately or that the test will be passed.

Vehicle & Safety

Lessons are provided in a dual-controlled manual tuition vehicle that is fully insured, regularly serviced and maintained to a high standard.

To help keep the vehicle clean, safe and comfortable for everyone:
-Smoking and vaping are not permitted in or around the tuition vehicle during lessons.
-Eating or drinking during lessons is not permitted unless agreed in advance by the instructor.
-Mobile phones, smartwatches and other electronic devices must not be used while driving unless instructed to do so as part   of the lesson or in an emergency.
-Pupils are expected to arrive in suitable clothing and maintain a reasonable standard of personal hygiene out of consideration for the instructor and future pupils.
-Seat belts must be worn at all times unless legally exempt.

If a pupil arrives in a condition that makes it unsafe or unreasonable to continue the lesson, Steve Miller Driving School reserves the right to refuse or terminate the lesson. In such circumstances, the lesson may be treated as a late cancellation and the full lesson fee may apply.

Behaviour & Respect

Steve Miller Driving School is committed to providing a safe, professional and respectful learning environment.

Pupils are expected to behave courteously towards the instructor, other road users and members of the public at all times.

Abusive, threatening, discriminatory, intimidating or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in the lesson ending immediately without refund. Future tuition may also be refused.

Where appropriate, incidents may be reported to the police or other relevant authorities.

Recording Lessons

Some pupils may wish to record lessons using a mobile phone, dash camera or other recording device.

Any audio or video recording must be discussed and agreed with Steve Miller before the lesson begins.

Recordings must not be published, shared, edited or used in any way that infringes the privacy, safety or rights of the instructor, other road users or third parties.

Steve Miller Driving School reserves the right to refuse permission for lessons to be recorded.

Theory Test Pro

Eligible pupils may receive complimentary access to Theory Test Pro as part of their driving tuition.

This service is provided to support theory test preparation and remains the property of Steve Miller Driving School and/or Theory Test Pro.

Access may be withdrawn if lessons are discontinued or where it is considered appropriate to do so.

Provision of Theory Test Pro does not form part of the lesson fee and does not guarantee success in the DVSA Theory Test.

Steve Miller Driving School collects only the personal information necessary to arrange and deliver driving lessons.

Personal information will be processed in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation and will never be sold, rented or shared with third parties unless required by law or where necessary to provide the requested service.
